If you are someone who likes to drink, and often in excess, then you have probably experienced a
massive and annoying headache at one point. Although you didn’t intend to, you ended up having one too many drinks again last night. And because of that, you now have to deal with a hangover, and face the consequences of giving in to the temptation of alcohol. Good news is that, hangovers are often short-lived. And even if you don’t do anything, they can go away on its own. But if you let your hangover run its course, then it means you have to suffer through it the entire day. That said, if you are looking for quick fixes to get quick hangover relief, here are some ways to help you cure that hangover fast.
• Water therapy helps. Individuals suffering from hangover are highly recommended to hydrate themselves by drinking plenty of water. You should take in as much water as possible even if you feel like your stomach will turn upside down. Water helps to eliminate toxins in the body, ergo, it will also help flush out alcohol from your system fast. Usually, the throbbing headache you feel after a night of indulging to too much alcohol is caused by dehydration. Knowing this, the best way to fight hangover induced headache is by replenishing your body with lots, and lots of water.
• Allow your body to recover. Perhaps, the simplest and best way to cure a hangover is just to take a good amount of rest. If you have to deal with the hangover while at work, getting a power nap even if it is just for fifteen minutes will help your body to recuperate. Meanwhile, if you have a lot of spare time, use it to rest. Allow your body to recuperate and heal itself after a night of too much alcohol indulgence.
• Reach for an aspirin instead of acetaminophen. If the headache is unbearable, then taking aspirin will help relieve it. Aspirin can also alleviate other body aches and pains. Drinking too much causes inflammation in the body, which is a common response when consuming alcohol in excess. Since your liver has worked hard to process the excess alcohol, taking acetaminophen will only cause more harm to your liver. So ditch that acetaminophen bottle and reach for aspirin, ibuprofen or naproxen.
