Urban Leaders Summit
CEOs for Cities’ network partners convened for the Urban Leaders Summit Monday and Tuesday for a series of rich discussions on the future of cities.
The meeting summary and presentations will be posted here next week, but Carol Coletta summarized a few of the themes that resonated throughout the presentations:
• Big ideas have the power to create alignment, generate excitement, and attract resources.
• But don’t ignore the small stuff (or the people producing the small stuff).
• Magnify your differences.
• Start with your strengths and build on them.
• Connect your strengths.
• Find undervalued resources and put them to work.
• Make it easier for people to do what you want them to do.
• Vitality is more likely when cities are compact.
• Orchestrate the energy of people who want to contribute.
• Get the right facts before moving to action.
• All systems working together make a stronger community. “Don’t prioritize the pituitary gland.”
